National Rubber Ducky Day

Earlier this month we spent some time enjoying rubber duckies, and surprisingly it did not require a bathtub nor being alone. Downtown brewery, Able Baker Brewing, welcomed a group of social locals celebrating National Rubber Ducky Day on January 13th. Honestly, it was a fun excuse to gather for tasty beers, #riduckulous-ly good food and spice up a Monday evening themed around a bath time icon. Leave it to Social Exchange Group to spark connectivity and engage the unexpected! It’s no coincidence that we gathered at this spot on Brewery Row for their very first Local Social Holiday of 2025. The reserved area featured a flock of rubber ducks on display and a jar full of white ones to–yep, you guessed it: DUCK-orate our very own.

You’re probably wondering why. Why does this social holiday even exist? Why was it celebrated at Able Baker? Why didn’t I know about this? Why did someone wear a duck onesie? Well, why not? We could all use a great setting to socialize with friendly locals. While we might not all be rubber ducky enthusiasts, we’re all for inviting festive people out to discover neat spots around town and connect with more of our community. Join the mailing list to keep up with more good reasons to explore locally owned businesses.
